Our work for nature
For over 100 years Pro Natura has been fighting for nature’s cause in Switzerland. The creation of the first Swiss National Park was our first ambitious goal. Over the decades other conservation issues have become important. However, one thing has always stayed the same: we take determined action – both in the political realm and in hands-on, practical conservation.
Recent technological and social developments have increased pressure on the natural world. Where nature is being pushed back, we speak for it and give it a strong voice in politics and society. We are active at a regional level with our cantonal offices, at a national level with the central organization, and at an international level as a Swiss member of Friends of the Earth International. Our many volunteers are an important pillar of our conservation work.
